Barley Legal II: Activist Judges Gone Wild!

July 31, 2007 · Posted in Conservatism.ca · View Comments

Admittedly even I didn’t see this one coming. This truly is a sad day, and marks a new low for Canada’s judiciary.

It appears a judge, in wisdom that is far greater than the Government elected freely by the people, has made yet another contemptuous political decision, this time overturning a Cabinet decision that allowed barley farmers the simple (and, one might assume, basic) right to sell their production to the buyer they chose, rather than forcing them to sell their production only to the Communist Wheat Board.

This level of blatant contempt for democracy might even make Robert Mugabe blush.

Free Blog Hosting for the democratic left!

I was perusing bloggingdippers.org (the NDP blogroll site), as I like to do from time to time, and found a prominent link I thought you all might appreciate.

It seems there is a website for free blog hosting for the “democratic left”. (Thankfully, and after much anticipation, I might add!)

I’ll post a picture of what I saw at 2:35am, and you can tell me if you see anything wrong here (other than me being up at 2:35am). Look at the list of recently updated Blogs, in particular the first one.

Nope, it all looks like pretty normal left-wing stuff to me.

It seems the person who setup this free site for his socialist pals is none other than Canada’s most famous “Devin” — Devin Johnston of London, Ontario. (That’s Johnston with a “t”.) Devin is also the Director of Communications for the Ontario New Democratic Youth (but his secret identity is the biggest “Jays” fan this side of Toronto).

All the best to you, Devin! Nobody’s perfect.

For all you other e-Pioneers who are also friends with Democracy, like Devin, here’s a suggestion: if you setup a free blog site, approve users before you list them on your site.
