It needs to be up to the MP to make a decision that he/she feels is in tbe best interests of the consitutents.<br/><br/>Before anyone else says it, I know, I know, I'm living in a fantasy world...party whips control MPs...but why would we give them MORE power by not letting anyone leave?<br/><br/>For that matter, why is threatening to punish an MP for not toeing the party line a form of coersion? Banning floor crossing makes a complete mockery of our electoral system.

We don’t vote for a party, or for a Prime Minister, we vote for an MP. It needs to be up to the MP to make a decision that he/she feels is in tbe best interests of the consitutents.

Before anyone else says it, I know, I know, I’m living in a fantasy world…party whips control MPs…but why would we give them MORE power by not letting anyone leave?
